Payroll Services provides support for University of Florida staff navigating the payroll process and tax laws while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal agencies’ laws and regulations.

Payroll Schedules

Pay period begin and end dates, Time & Labor close dates, pay dates, Human Resources deadlines, as well as other information critical to Time & Labor approvers, processors, and new employees.

W-2s and Payroll Tax

Information about Form W-2—including procedures to consent to receive your W-2 electronically and to request a copy of your W-2—as well as relevant payroll tax law updates and information related to claiming an exemption from federal withholding.

Payroll Distributions

How account codes translate to chartfield strings, where payroll costs are recorded in the general ledger, and the Payroll Distribution Listserv.

Moving Expenses

Self-move expense reimbursements, criteria required in accounting for and determining qualified moving expenses, and reporting of any resulting taxable income to the employee.

Foreign Nationals/Nonresident Aliens

Information about and procedures for hiring a foreign national for employment, or as an independent contractor or honorarium recipient. Also, information concerning providing a scholarship/fellowship/award to a foreign national, or making a payment to foreign corporations performing services in the U.S.

Direct Deposit

Includes UF’s direct deposit requirement as well as instructions for changing your existing account, adding an account in My Self Service, and establishing direct deposit with multiple accounts.

Fringe Benefits Pool

Twelve Month Payment Option for Nine Month Faculty

The Twelve Month Payment Option is open to all faculty members on a nine-month academic year appointment. It is an optional program designed as a savings method to help bridge the gap between the nine-month work year and the desire to have twelve months of income.
