A Request for Approval of Perquisite or Sale of Goods and Services Form HR-400 must be completed and approved before purchasing items that require approval as perquisites.
If they need to be furnished, it may only be done when in the best interest of the university due to the exceptional or unique requirements of the position.
Items that are required by the employer for safety, security, or health purposes such as uniforms, safety equipment, special footwear, protective clothing, etc. that are issued or purchased by the university are considered non-reportable/non-taxable items for federal tax purposes and may be purchased.
What are Perquisites?
Perquisites are items that include but are not limited to:
- Laundry services
- Medical service
- Use of vehicles for other than university purposes
Perquisites are any tangible privilege or gain beyond salary and entitlements provided to administrators, faculty or other employees.
