Release of Student Information

Overview

In accordance with the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) (20.U.S.C. 1232g), also known as the Buckley Amendment, and Title XLVIII, Chapter 1006 of the Florida Statutes, the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships and the Bursar are prohibited from releasing information concerning a student’s financial aid status and all financial records to a third party without the written consent of the student.

To provide written consent, students can login at ONE.UF, in the left top menu select Finances, then select Financial Info Release > + Add Person or Agency. Complete the pop-up form and submit.

University of Florida staff will not be able to discuss the student’s financial information with family members or guardians unless the student has completed the authorized consent.
