Payment Card Operations Update: 2/2/16

Dear Credit Card Merchants,
Some departments have reached out to us for guidance about the acceptance of UnionPay credit cards. UnionPay is the only domestic bank card organization in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Their cards can be used in over 150 countries and regions around the world. Please see below for information about Union Pay credit cards at the University of Florida:

Card swipe terminals:
You can process both card-present and card-not-present (mail order/telephone order) transactions. Settlements should be combined with Visa, MasterCard and Discover in the same departmental deposits in PeopleSoft. Please enter them by the next business day using the same payment ID (xxxVI).

InternetSecure/Converge:
These implementations do not support UnionPay transactions at this time.

iPAY/CASHNet:
This implementation does not support UnionPay at this time.

We have reached out to our processors emphasizing on the potentially increased demand for UnionPay. We will keep you informed on any further developments, especially concerning the InternetSecure/Converge and iPAY/CASHNet implementations.
