Florida Prepaid College Program
The Florida Prepaid College Program is a state administered
program through which parents, grandparents, or guardians may prepay and lock in
the costs associated with community college and state university tuition at guaranteed
rates.
At the University of Florida, students participating in the Florida Prepaid College
Program will not have to show their Florida Prepaid cards to verify that they are
participants. The Florida Prepaid/Third Party Billing office located in S113 Criser
Hall works directly from an on-line computer access system provided by the Florida
Prepaid College Program.
Invoicing
The Florida Prepaid College Program may be invoiced each term that a student is
registered at the University of Florida. The program will be invoiced for the state
portion of tuition which is the same for all 10 state universities. Unless the program
included coverage, the student would be responsible for paying local fees such as
material and supply fees and transportation access fees. These additional amounts
must be paid by the published fee payment deadline. The only time the program will
not be invoiced is when the student signs a decline notice. The decline notice
must be signed at the Florida Prepaid/Third Party Billing office. The notice must
be received by the fee payment deadline for each term the student does not
want the Florida Prepaid College Program invoiced.
Florida Prepaid and Financial Aid
Students participating in the Florida Prepaid College Program who are also expecting
to receive financial aid (i.e., loans, scholarships) will have the state portion
of their tuition paid by the Florida Prepaid College Program. Financial aid received
is then applied to the local fees portion of tuition after the Florida Prepaid College
Program amount has been credited to their tuition fees account. Financial aid that
exceeds the local fees and other student obligations will be sent to the student
via direct deposit or mailed to their local address. For a breakdown of the state
and local fees see the fee calculation.
Audit Fees
The audit fee is the same for Florida and Non-Florida residents. All students who
audit a course must go to the customer service counter located in S113 Criser Hall
after they have completed the audit form to have it stamped as paid. Those students
who have Florida Prepaid and wish to audit a course can have the state portion of
the tuition amount paid by the Florida Prepaid College Program.
Overseas Studies Program and Department of Continuing Education
Students participating in the overseas studies' program or receiving instruction
through correspondence and are participants in the Florida Prepaid College Program
can have the program invoiced for the state portion of their tuition. Students participating
in the overseas studies' program or DOCE who would like for the program to be invoiced
would have to go to 123 Grinter Hall or 2209 NW 13th St, Suite D respectively.
