Billing Information
A Statement of Account will be sent to students with
a balance of more than $1.00 on their account. These monthly statements are produced
on the tenth of every month and are sent to the student’s local address except in
August and December when they are sent to the permanent address. It is the student’s
responsibility to keep their current local and permanent address on file with the
Office of the University Registrar.
All charges on a Statement of Account, other than
tuition fees, are due on the first of the month. Tuition fee payments are due by
the established tuition fee payment deadline for each term. Types of charges that
might be included on a Statement of Account include accounts receivable,
tuition fees, and loan payments.
Accounts Receivable Charges
University Financial Services acts as a central billing
agent for many University departments. Some examples of account receivable charges
would be infirmary, delinquent traffic and parking tickets, library fines, computer
accounts and housing charges. Questions regarding details on accounts receivable
charges should be addressed to the department
where the charges are incurred.
Tuition Fees
Tuition Fees will appear on a Statement of Account
if they are deferred or delinquent. Please keep in mind, University Financial Services
is unable to produce a tuition bill. Students will not receive a Statement of Account
with tuition fees before the fee payment deadline. Tuition Fees not paid by the
fee payment deadline will be assessed a $100.00 late payment charge. For more information
on tuition fees please go to our
Tuition Fee Payment site.
Loan Payments
Beginning December 1, 2003, the billing and servicing
of your University of Florida student loan(s) will be administered by Educational
Computer Systems, Incorporated (ECSI). ECSI is a billing servicer for the University,
not a collection agency. University Financial Services at the University of Florida
previously performed this service. ECSI sends monthly statements to loan borrowers.
However, payment of your debit is not contingent upon receipt of a statement.
When you make a payment by check or money order,
please include your social security number/UF ID on the check or money order and
make it payable to ECSI.
The address for payments is:
Educational Computer Systems, Incorporated
181 Montour Run Road
Coraopolis, PA 15108-9408
If you have any questions regarding your statements
from ECSI, please contact ECSI directly at 1-888-549-3274. Or, you may visit their
website at
http://www.ecsi.net/. You may also visit our Student Loan Collections
site for more information on loan payments.
Failure to pay outstanding charges by the established
deadlines will result in a financial hold being placed on a student’s account. A
financial hold prohibits students from future registration, receipt of transcripts,
and access to grades and other University services, including admission to athletic
events..
A financial hold would also include:
Return Check Hold for students whose checks or electronic
payments are returned from the bank.
Exit Interview Hold for students who need to complete
an exit interview.
Graduation Hold for graduating seniors with a balance
on their account
A financial hold will be removed from a student’s
account when the delinquent obligation is satisfied.
Delinquent debts
can result in placement with a collection agency without further notice at which
time collection cost will be assessed increasing the amount owed. Also, delinquent
debt may be reported to the National Credit Bureau.
