The largest treefrog in North America is the Cuban Treefrog. This non-native species is distinguished by enormous toe pads. It prefers moist, shady places in trees, shrubs or around houses and is commonly found near ornamental fish ponds and well-lighted patios. It eats anything from insects, spiders to other frogs. It is found along the southern coasts of Florida. The breeding period lasts from May to October. The voice is variably pitched, slightly rasping or grating stone. |
