Payment Card Newsflash #014

Dear Credit Card Merchants:

This is to inform you that we have changed the format of the annual credit card security training that is mandated by PCI requirement 12.6.1. (merchants have to ‘educate personnel upon hire and at least annually’).

Based on your feedback of prior years, we have replaced the Credit Card Security Workshops with online training.

Therefore, all work-force members defined as employees, students or volunteers, who process, store, and/or transmit credit or debit cards are required to successfully complete one of the two PCI trainings listed below before beginning work with payment cards and annually thereafter.

  • TRM100 – PCI-Payment Card Security
Required if you manage an area that processes, stores, and/or transmits credit or debit cards
  • TRM150 – PCI – Payment Card Security for Front Line Staff
Required for all non-supervisory, front line work-force members that process, store, and/or transmit credit or debit cards

We also have updated the annual Ethics Certification to include the training requirement.

Please stay tuned for more detailed information that we will provide you regarding this year’s PCI project.
