Lobbyist
Directive Statement
Payments to a lobbyist are prohibited from E&G (commonly called “state”) funds to pay a person lobbying the Florida Legislature who is NOT an employee.
Monies for salaries, travel expenses, and per diem may be used for lobbying purposes of full-time employees of the University of Florida.
Funds may NOT be used to retain, by contract, an outside lobbyist.
Reason for Directive
Lobbying activities of the University are restricted to full-time employees whose work includes that purpose. E&G funds cannot be used to pay a non-UF employee for lobbying activities.
Who must comply?
All UF departments.
