Contracts and Grants Administration Workshop

Introductory Level

If you are responsible for your department's post-award contract and grant administration or are a Principal Investigator, you may wish to attend this comprehensive workshop. Attendance is particularly encouraged for staff new to the administration of contracts and grants. This program will review the guidelines for contract and grant administration and what you need to know to administer your contracts and grants in compliance with the agency rules, Cost Accounting Standards, OMB A-21 and university policies. This class is included in the Research Administration Training Certificate program, but does not require program participation to attend.

See http://rgp.ufl.edu/research/training/ for current training schedule.

Advanced Level

Contracts & Grants with DSR will hold advanced level workshops. These workshops will be for staff with experience in post-award contract and grant administration. There will be a short review of guidelines, and then we will hold a panel discussion to answer your specific questions and concerns regarding UF polices, agency guidelines or grant specific issues. In order to allow us to prepare for this workshop, please e-mail us any questions or concerns you would like to see addressed. Problems you have had in the past that were difficult to solve may benefit someone else in the workshop, so feel free to send these types of comments and/or questions also. This class is included in the Research Administration Training Certificate program, but does not require program participation to attend.

See http://rgp.ufl.edu/research/training/ for current training schedule.

Cost Sharing and CAS Compliance Workshop

If you are responsible for your department's post-award contract and grant administration or are a Principal Investigator, you may wish to attend this practical workshop on cost sharing, what it is and how to report it. We will discuss how to recognize, monitor and report cost-sharing in a variety of ways. This workshop should cut through the confusing aspects of cost sharing, making compliance with agency rules, Cost Accounting Standards, OMB A-21 and university policies much easier. Educational institutions with major federal contracts and grants are now required to comply with certain Cost Accounting Standards and to submit a Disclosure Statement which describes the institution’s cost accounting practices as they relate to direct and indirect charges to Federally sponsored programs. This includes the practices followed by the institution’s major service centers to develop and apply recharge rates for external and internal users of their services. This class is included in the Research Administration Training Certificate program, but does not require program participation to attend.

See http://rgp.ufl.edu/research/training/ for current training schedule.

Space Inventory and Allocation Survey Workshop

This training is mandatory for all University Departments.  It will provide hands on training on completing the annual Space Inventory and Allocation Survey. If you are a new user, you will need your security approved before you are allowed to register.  Your security administrator for your department would handle this for you, by selecting the Space Management Application (ID 1112) and the Indirect Cost Space Allocation (ID 1230) in the Information Systems Administrative Application.

Non-Academic Activity Reporting Workshop

Please contact Grady Dardne at gcd @ ufl.edu or (352) 392-5778 for reservations.
